The organs of a British tourist who suffered a fatal heart attack while on holiday in Marmaris were donated, bringing hope to multiple recipients. The incident once again drew attention to the importance of organ donation.
In his assessment of the case, Uz. Dr. Turgay Burucu emphasised that a large proportion of sudden cardiac deaths can be prevented with early intervention and that regular cardiac check-ups save lives. Dr. Burucu also noted that organ donation gives thousands of patients a new chance at life.
